James Vo vs. Solar Nova

The sky over Mehearth suddenly split open.

A blazing golden figure stepped through the rift.

“At last…” the figure said. “I am Solar Nova, the living core of a dying star.”

The ground began to melt beneath every step Solar Nova took.

James Vo teleported onto the battlefield, gripping his energy blade.

“So you’re the one causing all this?”

Solar Nova smiled.

“I don’t cause destruction.”

“I am destruction.”

Without warning, Solar Nova launched a beam hotter than the center of the sun.

BOOOOOOM!

James barely dodged, leaving only an afterimage as an entire mountain vanished.

“Fast,” Solar Nova admitted.

James charged forward, his sword glowing blue.

CLANG!

The blade struck Solar Nova’s armor—but the armor absorbed the energy.

“My turn.”

A miniature sun formed above Solar Nova’s hand.

It exploded into thousands of flaming meteors.

James sliced through dozens, punched through hundreds more, and unleashed a massive shockwave that cleared the sky.

The two collided again and again.

Each impact shook Mehearth.

James activated his maximum power.

“Hero Limit Break!”

His speed doubled.

His sword became surrounded by white energy.

He landed hundreds of strikes in seconds.

Solar Nova staggered.

“Impressive…”

Then Solar Nova’s core ignited.

The battlefield became brighter than daylight.

“I’ve only been using one percent.”

A colossal solar dragon erupted from the core and crashed into James.

The blast sent him flying through mountains, forests, and finally into the ocean.

James climbed back onto land, exhausted but still standing.

“I… won’t quit.”

Solar Nova nodded with respect.

“That’s why you’re worthy.”

Solar Nova condensed all his remaining energy into one attack.

Supernova Collapse.

James answered with everything he had.

Ultimate Hero Slash!

The two attacks collided.

For several seconds…

Nothing moved.

Then—

KABOOOOOOOM!!

The explosion could be seen across the entire multiverse.

When the light faded…

James was on one knee.

Solar Nova remained standing.

“You fought beyond your limits,” Solar Nova said. “Few have ever pushed me this far.”

James smiled despite his injuries.

“Then next time… I’ll win.”

Solar Nova opened a portal and disappeared into the stars.
