Meh Decides to Trust Root Again…

The Hall of Heroes was unusually quiet.

Meh stood at the center of the room, staring at Root.

Root had betrayed the team before. Even though Root had helped save countless lives afterward, the memory of that betrayal never disappeared.

Every hero waited.

James Vo folded his arms.

“You’re seriously considering this?”

Mads frowned.

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”

Hem smirked from across the room.

“This is going to end badly.”

Root lowered their head.

“I don’t expect forgiveness. I only wanted one chance to make things right.”

Silence.

Finally, Meh stepped forward.

“I’ve spent a long time wondering whether people can really change.”

Everyone looked at him.

“I think they can.”

Gasps echoed through the hall.

Meh extended his hand.

“I trust you again.”

Root hesitated.

“You… really mean that?”

Meh nodded.

“But understand this.”

“If you betray innocent people again…”

“The second chance ends forever.”

Root slowly shook Meh’s hand.

“I won’t waste it.”

The room remained tense.

James Vo sighed.

“I still don’t like this.”

Mads shrugged.

“I guess we’ll find out.”

For several weeks, Root fought alongside the heroes without a single mistake.

Then one afternoon…

Emergency alarms blasted across Hero HQ.

⚠ UNKNOWN COSMIC ENTITY DETECTED ⚠

The sky cracked open.

A giant rift stretched across the clouds.

A colossal shadow stepped through.

“I am Eclipse Prime.”

“I have come for the Omega Core.”

Every hero prepared for battle.

Before anyone could move—

Root jumped in front of Meh.

“I’ll hold it off!”

A beam of cosmic energy exploded toward the team.

Root raised every shield they had.

BOOOOOM!!

The blast threw Root hundreds of feet backward.

The shields shattered.

But the heroes behind them were completely unharmed.

James Vo looked stunned.

“They… protected us.”

Root struggled to stand.

“I’m… not letting anyone else get hurt…”

Meh smiled.

“I knew I made the right choice.”

Every hero charged together.

For the first time…

Root wasn’t fighting to prove they had changed.

They were fighting because they truly had.
